My local fishwrapper has an interesting letter posted today in the Opinion column, and Fair Use and all that, it's worth steal copying:
I am tired of this debate over George W. Bush's "illegal" wiretapping. All he's trying to do is to protect the American people from an invisible enemy of indeterminate numbers who wishes us harm, and he will allow neither law nor Constitution to stand in his way if he's going to get the job done. Can you imagine how effective he would be if only he didn't have to face this constant criticism from bleeding-heart liberals? For example, all of the terrorists have been fundamentalist Muslims and that is who the surveillance and detentions have been directed toward. Wouldn't we all be safer if all Jews -- I mean Japanese -- I mean fundamentalist Muslims were gathered together in one place? Whole families, of course; we wouldn't want to separate them. It wouldn't have to be bad. It could be fun, like a kind of camp. The military and National Guard would, of course, be assigned to run these camps for the prisoners' -- uh, campers', protection as well as ours. Let any of them just try and be a terrorist then!
Think of how safe and better off we will all be if everybody just quits raising a fuss and lets President Bush follow his reasoning to its logical conclusion. What could go wrong?

My response: "It's been lovely but I have to scream now.
Unfortunately, this satirist's intended audience will fail to see the parallels with Nazi Germany that the satirist intended, and will simply nod their heads and say "yeah, that'd be a great idea!".
