They Just Can't Break The Habit

Roll Call has an interesting little tidbit.

House Republicans are taking a mulligan on the first ballot for Majority Leader. The first count showed more votes cast than Republicans present at the Conference meeting. Stay with RollCall.com for updates.

I guess they cheat at everything either because its an automatic reaction or maybe just for practice, to keep their hands in.

Yes, it is a habit, just like lying. I really enjoyed the previous article. My take is similar, I've always thought the difference between conservatives and liberals was like this:
Conservatives are basically pessismistic, always thinking that the world is going to hell in a handbasket; their worldview (and politics, etc.) is based on fear; and they are always looking to the past, yearning for some golden age that never really existed.
Liberals are basically optimistic, their worldview is based on hope rather than fear and they look forward to the future with pleasure, sometimes anticipating a future utopia that will never arrive, but usually seeing the world a little more realistically than that.

I have a favor to ask. I recently put up a blog, not to blog on, at least not for now, but as an information clearing house for a political project. If you have time to take a peek, let me know what you think and if you would like to get involved. I'm looking for an already well established online community to get this thing kick started and for maximum impact.
Thanks
