Just an idle thought: How long will it be before Katherine Harris and/or Kenneth Blackwell start writing their political memoirs, especially about the 2000 and 2004 elections? Will they end up with some nice well-paid party sinecure? Will it be offered to shut them up? Will someone whisper in their ears? Will they henceforth avoid flying?

As always I welcome opinions, especially those that point out that I am a cynical man with a warty sense of the macabre. But all kidding aside, opinions are solicited.

Lurch, did't Katie "promise"a few days/weeks ago to write her memoirs?

She's gotta pay off the bill for them balloons! Oh wait, daddy had boatloads of dough. She wasn't your Rep, was she???

Will they henceforth avoid flying?

Since when has either one of them ever told the truth enough that they should worry?

If they suddenly have the epiphany and do so, I recommend they hire someone to start their cars for them.

I'm expecting an Onion Piece on this.

"Katherine Harris and Blackwell to co-author tell-all book"

- After being visited by Jesus is a dream, Katherine Harris has decided to come clean and tell all about what really did happen in Florida in 2000. "Oh Gore won by at least 50,000 votes - we stole it big time - And Jeb us lousy in bed too"

Blackwell said he would be offering insights on the 2004 Ohio vote. "Hell - Kerry won Ohion by a at least 10,000 votes, but Diebold can do magic with the tallies. Since Bush treated me like a ugly stepchild in 2006, I'm going to tell how we stole it - I don't care. Oh, and Bush is lousy in bed too".

She's got more money than Carter's got little farter starters. She paid green cash for those babies, and a lot of it, and good for her. I think any woman who wants to improve her looks should be able to. Now, how can I improve my looks, other than stuffing a sock, like Mr Bu$h did?

No, she's not my Congress critter. If she was I suspect I might have shot one of us already, most likely myself.

Umm,. Gordo, being the straight arrow that you are, I'd like to share an observation that some friends of mine told me about. Nothing to do with me, mind you, but they say if you see two cars with lights on the roof stopping in front of your house, your first reaction, apparently, is to flush the toilet.

This has been a 21st century parable.

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha......

Don't fly in any small planes, Robert.

First of all, if I'm on the shitter I won't see them pull up.

Second of all, what has your free advice, always worth what I pay for it I must add, got to do with the price of, er, tea in China?

Posted by: Lurch at November 9, 2006 07:38 PM

If you spend your entire day on the shitter I can understand why they'd come to visit you.

Indian tea is every bit as good as Chinese tea and comes with the benefit of a fully-staffed office, available 24 hours a day, to advise you how to cook it. And they speak pretty good english - almost as good as the Americans they put out of work.

Ifthey wrote their memoirs, Rove would maneuver them to the same venue and then have 'em both taken out with an IED.

Katherine Harris will write her book and unless JEB relocates he's the one with the problem because she is very definitely part of the "Old Florida" network. The University of Florida football stadium is named after her grandaddy, so she has markers she can call in.

She was abused by the Busheviks and she is not going to be quiet about it, nor should she. They owed her big time, and they didn't pay off. She didn't get any real opposition from Florida Republicans because the good ol' boys know how nasty she can be.

She fixed the 2000 election and stood aside for the 2004 Senate seat because of promises that were made and not kept. She is going to get her pound of flesh.

LOL - Fixer, you may be right.

Posted by: Lurch at November 9, 2006 09:06 PM

I think you're absolutely right, Bryan. I didn't know about the stadium thing. It's a personal failing of mine to not pay any attention to Fla colleges because I have no respect for their products. And, as you probably know, in this state football is more important than physics, or European languages, or history.

I agree with your contentions about her political history. There have been whispers for years that she and JEB! were far more than politicians in the same party, and her actions and public appearances during the 2000 election theft proved she's an empty shell.

She is a walking timebomb, and wealthy in her own right, so she can't be bribed to go away. It ought to be interesting to watch this. I need to call Orville Redenbacker and order more popcorn.

Posted by: Gordon at November 9, 2006 10:09 PM

Get soft popcorn so I don't have to put my teeth in.

There's all kinds of interesting shit that's going to come out, I'll betcha.

European papers in the UK and Germany (maybe France but my french isn't good enough) are saying that Rumsfeld is the "first" casualty. Of course there was news late today that Mehlman is leaving in early January. (Merry Christmas, Ken. Hope you find a nice log cabin in the woods)

Posted by: Gordon at November 10, 2006 01:41 AM

I have a friend who is a gay former Marine, gun nut, and waaay right winger. He says the Log Cabin Republicans are a buncha faggots. I'm not making that up.
