Over at Firedoglake, Looseheadprop has posted a loooong but interesting article about the declassification process of the NIE involving Mrs Wilson. (Bring a box lunch, or at least a snack. No alcohol, because you want to stay clear-headed.)

Bottom line: it appears there may well be grounds for whipping Dick “dick” Cheney with the I-word. Now that’s a two-edged sword, because if that happened and we then got a conviction in the Senate, Mr Bu$h would appoint Mr Cheney’s successor, I believe. The precedent for that would be the appointment of Gerald Ford vice Spiro Agnew. That would certainly be following precedent: a Republican President with very strong fascist leanings selecting his own VP.

I doubt we’d get a conviction in the Senate, though, because Joe Lieberman (R-Tel Aviv) would certainly vote to protect his political party.
