Mr Wolcott Scores a Twofer

You know it’s going to be a hard day’s night when your first view of the day is James Wolcott discussing digital movie making. But it was kind of interesting, and I was fumbling along, nodding my head as I learned that David Lynch likes making Hollywood films with digital cameras because it can be done with minimal staff, much less lighting, no cranes, no 22 different trucks (that’s going to make the craft unions happy) and a lot less time spent in set up, lighting tests, film reloading, etc.

The digital cameras we’re talking about are not things like this, but rather this sort of apparatus. Just looking at it I can see it's from the "If you have to ask the price you can't afford it" side of consumer electronics.

It was a nice relaxing read, and I sort of learned something new, which is what life is for. Then, at the very end of the article, Mr Wolcott snuck this in on me:

It seems that You Tube has pretensions of something or other – surely not grandeur - and has banned Atlas Juggs.

I think I have a bottle of champagne somewhere.....
