In discussing blogging immediately below and especially considering the chilling effect that a recent regulation on written information emanating from the war zone can be perceived to have, I pointed out the fact that DA Reg 530-1 (OPSEC) effectively exposes every uniformed service member to have a commanding officer standing over his shoulder, reading every word, written or electronic, sent “outside.”

In another excellent set of observations, A.E. points out that today’s military considers the “media” to be another threat locus, like al-Qaeda, or drug cartels.
