I just heard a radio report that not-quite-reverend Jerry Falwell has had a “heart failure” and has shuffled off to his eternal reward. (If you actually believe in that sort of thing.) This might actually be the unimpeachable proof of the existence of a deity we’ve all been searching for.
I’m very conflicted about the news because I honestly believe this was one of the most evil and misrepresentative of the false “leaders” of the debased American fake christian movement. I’m sure his successor will continue his teaching of hate against the selected minorities.
Yet a part of me hopes he has some kind of peace. Does that make me "Christian"? Such a shande.
Now I guess he’ll miss the rapture, eh?
If anyone has any thoughts, opinions, farewell messages, feel free, but please keep it simple and civil.
UPDATE: Steve Benen memorializes the man with his own words. Perhaps that's the best way to remember him. A man is the sum total of his words and actions.
