This is my mandatory Paris Hilton commentary. America has invested more television hours, between chasing the story, videotaping and photographing, broadcasting and viewing, than it has in telling the truth about what is happening to our soldiers (automatically includes Marines) in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Like OJ, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and a host of other malformed celebrities before her, Paris Hilton has become a national disgrace and a cottage industry. The woman kept 30 paparazzi gainfully employed before her refusal to obey the laws of California. The list has now been expanded to include indie video creators, and appropriately, comedy and ridicule will prevail.
Spoiled little rich girls are not news. The death of seriousness in our nation is.
