Friday Video Blogging (Work Safe, but Keep your volume down a bit)

Some time ago I wrote of my undying love for Kim Novak. At the time I wrote that she was one of three women I will never forget. The second is Gunilla Knutson.

Yes, right. Who?

Ms Knutson was a Swedish model, minor star, and health food sales person who was hired in 1966 to made a TV commercial for the Noxell Corporation, manufacturers of Noxzema shaving cream. The William Esty Advertising Agency created a sociological icon when they purchased the rights to a 1962 hit song by the David Rose Orchestra called “The Stripper.”

The first commercial made history.

Ms Knutson made quite a few commercials for Noxzema over the next six years, including one with Joe Namath in 1973. But in my view the best ad was this one.

What’s not to like?
