As I noted in this post...

Roads to Iraq warned us...

Out of the sudden and for the last few months, violence started again in Diyala. Although news reports stated that “Armed Councils” an equivalent to the “Awakening Councils” are behind these new conflicts, as Diyala police chief said to AlHayat:

The security operation is related to the disband of the “Armed Councils”, they still exist in Diyala and the surrounding villages.

In their Statement here, the major armed faction in Diyala denies any relation with the new violence wave in the province [in earlier statement they even denied that the faction present in Diyala].

The image above is a screenshot from reported by an eyewitness saying that Iraqi army is moving towards Diyala from two directions: 1- from Baghdad 2- from Kirkuk, which suggests that a military campaign on its way in the province.

I wonder if this military campaign has anything to do with Diyala’s tribal chiefs announcement today in AlHayat that they refuse to give away Diyala’s two cities [Jalwla'a and Sa'adiya] to Kurdistan?

We saw the same scenario in Mosul also.

In today's Aswat Aliraq...

Fresh plans to boost security in Diala, Ninewa

The Iraqi Ministry of Interior will soon launch new plans to boost security in the provinces of Diala and Ninewa, a senior security source said on Wednesday.

"A security plan will be launched in Diala in the coming few weeks," Maj. Gen. Abdul Kareem Khalaf told Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq- (VOI), noting that the province will be the "final scene in the bad chapter that the country has witnessed over the past period."

Khalaf has (also) vowed to restore stability and security to Mosul by backing "the security personnel working there."

Iraqi security forces have been conducting a large-scale military campaign since May 10. The operation, codenamed Za'eer al-Assad (Lion's Roar), aimed at tracking down gunmen in Ninewa province. Five days later, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki announced the operation's second stage under the name Umm al-Rabiain (Mother of Two Springs).
Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Speaking to VOI, Diala Governor Raad Rasheed al-Mulla denied that the military operations conducted by Iraqi forces in the province were a failure. "These operations have improved security in the province by 60 percent. We are trying to further improve security levels by conducting these new operations," he added.

60% improvement...? Not 58% or 62%...? Over what? It's pretty obvious that Maliki is gunning for the Sunnis and the Kurds!

I find it rather amusing that 'Baghdad' Bergner had to stress the American support for the Sunni Sahwa members...

Regarding a question addressed by Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq – (VOI) about the continuity of U.S. forces' support of the Sahwa (Awakening) tribal armed groups, Bergner said "U.S. forces will continue to support Sahwa groups throughout Iraq." "They form the supportive force for the Iraqi security forces," he added. "The Iraqi government is working to include some Sahwa fighters in security forces, after checking their civilian and military records," he noted. "Iraqi security forces currently embrace thousands of Sahwa fighters," he asserted.

Yep, and the check is in the mail...! Do ya have a nifty power point chart pointing it out, Bob...?

Today, is a tragic day in our Constitutional Republic... The Fourth Amendment has been eviscerated... Be thankful our Second Amendment rights remains intact... We're gonna need it...!
